The SAPA Fund

The main objective of the Fund is mostly to promote projects of Slovak independent producers especially abroad. Since 2044 the Fund has supported 82 projects.

SAPA's priority is also to support long-term strategies presenting the best audiovisual works; therefore SAPA has supported some selected important projects of collective presentation of Slovak cultural audiovisual heritage at the most prestigious events related to cinematography especially in Europe.

Until 2013, the third priority of the SAPA Fund was promoting the distribution of new Slovak films and supporting the presentation of audiovisual works of new generation of film-makers and producers.

Among supported projects have been:

  1. presentation of Slovak films and the audiovisual sector during the Marché du film at IFF Cannes 2005-2013
  2. presentation of Slovak films and the audiovisual sector at the EFM at the IFF Berlin 2006 – 2007
  3. presentation of Slovak films and the audiovisual sector at the EFM at the IFF Berlin 2009
  4. presentation of the project Babie leto (The Jeskoskero Nilaj) at the Project Markt Cottbus
